There are many lunchtime and after school clubs and activities at Radcliffe Riverside including the 'Out of Hours' club, funded by the New Opportunities Fund. All students are encouraged to get involved and all activities are organised by our experienced staff.

Radcliffe Riverside Library and ICT suite are made available for use at lunchtimes and after school. There are also numerous trips and visits organised by our staff throughout the year. At the end of each year we have an activity week where all the students have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities both on and off site.

Some of our more popular extra curricular clubs are listed below:

Urban Vibes

Urban Vibes is Radcliffe Riverside's very own school production company. Formed in 2005 Urban Vibes Urban Vibesseek to highlight to the world, the amazing work carried out by our students within the Music Technology & New Media Department. Urban Vibes holds no copyright over the students work.

Little Acorns

Little AcornsLittle Acorns is a comedy sketch programme with a difference from Urban Vibes productions. There's nothing better than having a right laugh whilst you learn and that's exactly what we do in Little Acorns. Students have the opportunity to get involved in every aspect of the production process of a live comedy programme - from concept you finished product - including editing, music and production


Reading club

This club is organised by the Special Needs department, it provides support at lunchtime for students who require help with their homework or want somewhere quiet to go at lunchtime.

Hackers club (I.C.T.)

Every lunchtime the ICT department runs a computer club to enable students to enhance their IT skills.

Music Activities

We encourage all forms of music making at Radcliffe Riverside School . There are many and varied music clubs and groups that all students are encouraged to get involved in. These include Radcliffe Riverside Samba band, Audio / visual club, Pop Orchestra and various rock and pop bands. The opportunity to learn a new instrument is also made available to every student through individual instrumental tuition. Students are able to showcase their talents at our end of year annual talent show.

Recently we have created our own record label to facilitate the release of our first CD in the summer of 2004.

French club

Our French department organises frequent trips to France for students to sample the culture and develop their language skills.

PE & Sporting clubs

We have many sporting clubs at Radcliffe Riverside School including Football, Basketball, Hockey, Netball, Badminton, Cricket, Trampolining and Rugby League. Students can pitch their skills on the football pitch at the weekly staff / student football games. Other clubs include Athletics and Street Dance - taken by visiting professionals. Students also take part in an annual inter-house sports day.

Drama club

This club allows students to develop key social skills such as concentration, confidence and make new friendships whilst enjoying themselves. Students attending this club can also take part in some school performances.

Homework club

This club takes place during lunchtime and allows students to complete their studies whilst under the guidance of specialist support staff.

Duke of Edinburgh logo

Model Club

At Riverside, we organise a dragster club where interested students can build and race their own dragsters.

We also help students achieve on the Duke Of Edinburgh awards scheme.
