By initial appointment of her Majesty The Queen, the 'Green Team' have been in action for the past few months helping to promote environmentally friendly concepts within the school and grounds.
The super team are pictured above - left to right; back row – Dominic Warren,
Christian Evans, Scott Henderson, Parisa Gharbanali-Kordbacheh and team mentor
Mr Bott. Front row- Michael Morley, Michael Conn, Danielle Conn and Jessica Jackson.
Students have been enthusiastic and the team already have ten active members
and a long waiting list. The group is student centred and led by Danielle Conn.
All students have an input in deciding what the aims of the group are.
The team was initiated by Associate Head Mr Ian Bott who had introduced the same
idea at his previous school. The task of the team is to keep the school green
by keeping it litter free, removing graffiti, introducing wildlife areas and
tending those which already exist.
Future plans include carrying on with the drive on litter and graffiti, to introduce
more recycling, clean the pond and have projects in lessons to promote their
ideas. They would like to explore the possibility of taking some of their ideas
into the new school.
The team is encouraged by Jenny Stobard and they would welcome any input including
ideas, items and muscle power.
